About Me

Hello, I’m Ailie: a BACP registered therapist offering counselling and psychotherapy in the North West of Edinburgh in person, via telephone and online. I also offer walk and talk therapy-using nature to support the therapeutic process and use Cramond Foreshore and the Lauriston Castle grounds for this purpose.

To me counselling and psychotherapy are an incredibly powerful way to find self acceptance and deeply explore a sense of self. I believe that talking therapy has the potential to benefit everyone no matter where they are at in life and I have personally found counselling and psychotherapy to be life changing.  I know how huge it can feel when making your initial decision to make a change.

I have experience in working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and childhood trauma. Through working with me we can explore your emotional landscape and find ways to bring in more joy into the every day and the here and now.

One to One Meetings for:

 Self Esteem Challenges: I specialise in supporting and building self esteem.  It is an area I am passionate  about and one which I have worked with extensively.  Self Esteem challenges could be rooted in childhood: experiences from initial caregivers; school experiences or early relational challenges.  Perhaps along the journey of childhood and adolescence your growth has been stunted in someway meaning you feel blocked and unable to fully express your authentic self.  It is possible to free these blocks and feel in tune with yourself.  It could be that self esteem has been impacted by a challenging life circumstance or trauma and again it is possible to soothe the nervous system to reconnect with your autonomy, spontaneity and awareness resulting in authenticity and higher self esteem.  
 
Anxiety and Social Anxiety: Another area of interest of mine is anxiety and social anxiety.  Being aware of your emotions and triggers and bringing in safety and healthy strategies to support and nourish your nervous system is key.  I am passionate about working with your potentially burnt out nervous system and bringing in more peace and calm.
